Building a pool is very exciting. Many people look forward to the utility of having a pool on their property. In fact, it is a great way to improve property values and add a great addition to your property for fun and entertainment. But knowing what kind of pool to install can be challenging. There are a lot of different options out there, which is why it is important to educate yourself before you commit to anything. Here are some things you should know.
1. Vinyl Pools Are Affordable
One of the biggest perks to doing a vinyl pool is that it is affordable. You can put in the pool and completely finish it for a fraction of what you would pay for other options. The vinyl is a commonly used option and can be used with common pool chemicals such as chlorine, however you cannot use salt in it. Additionally, when you use vinyl you have a lot more options for different shapes and designs.
The main reason people don't do vinyl is because it is not as durable as other options. For instance, it can rip if not treated properly. If there are children playing in the pool, or if it becomes very rowdy and people are using tools in the pool that are sharp, you risk ripping and fixing it can be costly.
2. Fiberglass Pools Are Affordable and Durable
The next step in affordability are fiberglass pools. Fiberglass pools look like a big bath tub. They are made out of porcelain and this porcelain is very durable and allows you to use whatever chemicals or salts that you want without worrying about ruining the pool. Lastly, the fiberglass is not as inexpensive as vinyl, but for the durability and the utility of it, it is definitely affordable.
The main reason that people don't do fiberglass is if they want a custom look. A fiberglass pool is manufactured in a facility so you cannot customize the shape or size.
3. Concrete is Durable and Custom
Lastly, if you want something that is very durable and can be customized, concrete is your best bet. It is up there as one of the most expensive options, but you get what you pay for. You can choose any shape, you can use any chemicals or salts, and you know that it will need few repairs.
The biggest drawback to concrete is the cost. To get this type of pool you have to be willing to pay more. Contact local custom pool builders for more help.Share
